At Windsor, we believe that emotional wellbeing is just as important as academic success. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels valued, listened to, and cared for. Good mental health helps children learn, build positive relationships, and thrive both in and out of school.
We offer a wide range of support to all of our children and their families.

Place2Be
We are proud to partner with Place2Be, a leading children’s mental health charity. Place2Be’s approach to children’s and young people’s mental health is to intervene early to prevent life-long mental health issues. Lorna is our Place2Be Manager and together with 4 other counsellors they are able to provide:
- One-to-One Counselling: Confidential sessions for pupils who need extra emotional support.
- Group Work: Small group sessions to build resilience and social skills.
- Place2Talk: A drop-in service where children can talk about worries or feelings in a safe space.
- Place2Think: A drop-in service where teachers can talk and seek advice as to how best to support children
- Personalised Individual Parent Training (PIPT): teaching skills to parents and carers to help manage their child’s behaviour.
If you would like to find out more or refer your child, please speak to Lorna (Place2Be manager) or visit Place2Be’s website.
Thrive Approach

We use the Thrive Approach to support children’s social and emotional development. Thrive helps us:
- Understand the needs behind a child’s behaviour.
- Provide targeted strategies to help pupils feel safe, secure, and ready to learn.
- Build positive relationships and resilience through structured activities and emotional coaching.
Mrs Douglas is trained as a Thrive Practitioner. She uses regular assessments (completed by the class teachers) to plan personalised support for pupils who need it most.
